Day 15 of FLOWERS GALORE!

Rococo Pillow

This is a close-up view of a small pillow that I made using both ribbonwork and silk ribbon emboridery stitches. The base is made from two silk fabrics pieced together and embellished with vintage ribbon trim, a basket made from vintage lace, embellished with a variety of ribbon flowers and ribbon trims. This was an example used in my book Ribbonwork Gardens from C&T Publishing.

Violet Gardens

This was one of two entries for the Piecework Magazine’s Excellence in Needlework 2009. The challenge was to make a brooch no larger than 3″, in any needle art category. This was a gallery piece that can be found in my book Ribbonwork Gardens by C&T Publishing.

Day 11 of HEARTS! Blue Hearts

Day 11 of HEARTS!

Many of you know that I love hearts! I love the shapes and all of the possibilities. This quaint little ornament was used as a gallery example in my book Ribbonwork Gardens. The sample is full of ribbonwork components. I used French wire ribbon for the hearts, silk bias ribbon for the roses, an hombre ribbon for the tiny rosettes and taffeta ribbon for the leaves.

Happy February to you!
