This is a wall hanging that I made using two cotton fabrics, a blue chambray and a fun print with bees in flight. I included some vintage lace for the vase and the center frame, and a novelty ribbon for the outer corner frame. The buttons are really the star here, and they are all vintage, with the exception of the bees that are mingled around the frame of the chambray square. All of the beaded embroidery stitches can be found in my book Beaded Embroidery Stitching, by C&T Publishing.
This is a up-close view of the needle-case that is the focus of my class Creative Thread Embroidery. The stitches are raised and textured and include tatted stitches, whip stitches, bullion stitches and cast on buttonhole stitches. This needle-case and the stitches can be found in my book Embroidered and Embellished, by C&T Publishing.
This is a wreath that started with a base of old wooden thread spools, threaded onto a thick floral wire. The base is wrapped with a printed ribbon, and adorned with tin butterflies, vintage buttons and an old pair of scissors that belonged to my grandmother. The scissors are wrapped with a ribbon that has a print similar to a measuring tape. There are also flowers made from the printed ribbon and a few lady bugs are resting in place.
The base also has four plastic thimbles that are filled with red blue and yellow flowers.
