About Christen

embroidery corner

I am an artist, a designer, a technician, a crafter, a writer and a poet. Every thing I do is because of the confidence that my husband and daughter show in me; and I know that it is their love for me that gives me the ability to bring my inspirations to life. And they always allow me the time to play in my room.

I began my career in the Wearable Art field in 1986, and my teaching career in 1991. I became the proprietress of The Store on the Corner in 2000, with my website arriving shortly thereafter. I love to teach and share my love for fiber art, beading, ribbonwork and embroidery. I began writing short stories and articles in 2007, then writing my own books in 2011, and will continue to do so.

  1. I have purchased 2 books on kindle and I can’t believe how much information was included. I got The Embroidery Book and The Beaded Embroidery Book. I couldn’t stop the ideas that I could use up so so much of my collections! I started looking for things I could chop up!

    • Thank you so much for your comment, and purchases! Glad that you are able to use the books. I know what you mean about harvesting for more beads, buttons, and embellishments, nothing is sacred! Happy Stitching to you! ~Christen

  2. Hi Christen, I am a big fan of your beautiful art and I have all your books and templates. I just finished your course “Hand embroidery basics and beyond”, which I really enjoyed. I wanted to rate it “Five Stars” and leave a review but it did not seem to be sent.

So, here it is, copied and pasted : I am thrilled by what I already learned. What a clear and helpful explanation of everything we need to do embroidery work!
Thank you so much, Christen, for showing us how easy it can be. I am enjoying every minute of this class and I recommended it to my Creative Crafters group.
This was my third course with Christen (after one in person at Beverly’s in San Diego several years ago and the Embroidery Extravaganza earlier this year). As usual, it was very interesting and uplifting! I can’t wait to use all these beautiful stitches. Thanks again.

    • Hi Marie,
Thank you so much for this glowing review, and I believe that it did go through, I saw it on the website at the bottom of the class page.
Happy Stitching to you my dear~ Christen
