Fleurs de France- silk ribbon embroidery

This is a close- up of the embroidery stitches that are included in my  Fleurs de France purse pattern.

This is a very feminine accessory and the pattern unique as it has curved pieced sections, where the embroidery is stitched along.

The stitches included in the instructions are:

  • woven rose
  • rose bud or leaf
  • lazy daisy
  • bullion tipped lazy daisy
  • colonial knot
  • strait stitch
  • feather stitch

Additional floral bouquets can be created with ribbon worked flowers which include:

  • concertina rose
  • prairie point bud or leaf

Simple instructions for bead embellishments are also included, I used fresh water pearls and glass seed beads on this project. This is an intermediate lesson, as you would need some embroidery and sewing skills to complete the project.
