The inspiration for this ensemble were this wonderful group of grape and flower themed buttons that I had been collecting for a few years.
There are gilded buttons with the grape and leaf motif; and there are porcelain Satsuma buttons with a wisteria pattern which are used on the necklace, an example of the "Avalon" pattern, and the middle bracelet. In addition I had just inherited my grandfathers gold cuff links which I put on the bracelet and made into earrings.
The first bracelet "Rosebud Dangle" is made from glass beads and dangles stitched onto a seed bead base.
The middle bracelet "Golden Days" uses vintage "tinnies" and my grandfather's cuff links. The gold initial "K" is for my husband, and the football shaped button was awarded to the "Champions of 1910", and was in my grandfather's jewelry box for years.
The last bracelet "Netted Fence" is made from new and vintage glass beads in a drop net pattern. A copper colored vintage "tinnie" button for the closure.
